Muscat beauty grapes - Lychee Flavor

I wonder if it would be possible to tissue culture some of the green cells on the stems.

I like lychees a lot, but never thought that Muscat Beauty tasted like them. Iā€™ll pay attention next time I get them and see if I can see it.

An interesting note- in this GW thread</a.>, a poster named LycheeLuva posted about how much they liked these grapes. But in spite of the nickname, didnā€™t mention the lychee flavor.

The first bunch I got from Jupiter was very good. Iā€™m not sure it is as good as MB, but it is pretty close. Iā€™m looking forward to a bigger sample this year with a larger vine (I planted last spring).

I like the lychee flavor, but not the texture of canned or ā€œunfresh/freshā€ fruit iā€™ve gotten at the store before. Usually makes me feel sick after a lot of it.

Summer Muscat Seedless was in the Winter 2018 Bareroot Catalog, but is not on the current online list.

I tried that.
Didnā€™t work
I think the variety is jealously guarded and unlikely to be released any time soon.

many online nursery dont ship grapes to WA anyone want to share scions with me in winter? will be greatly appreciated!

Itā€™s unfortunate that most new grape releases are seedless. Canā€™t plant the seeds!

Wonā€™t come true to type.

That is sometimes a good thing.
Grape breeding was very popular in America
in the 19th Century
before people got fixated on seedless grapes.
Iā€™ve got a lot of hybrids and many of them have a richer flavor than the Thompson Seedless.

I have some but you only want the Seedless grapes.
