Yes growing from the wood chips and molded around the vine. All kind of shrooms seem to be growing in the 3 rounds of chips I got this year. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts as I have no mind for IDing mushrooms
put in two bags of winecap spawn this spring, got fresh hardwood chips, kept watering…no mycelium anywhere in the mushroom beds!
i cannot afford to pay 40$ a bag and get a few pounds in a great year and one or two mushrooms or zero in a “bad” year. it’s annoying. they should do great here. even the Italian oyster spawn has disappeared, and those are hardy here for sure.
I’m very disappointed, i skimped hard this spring to afford the two bags from northspore. and nothing is left.
i literally got 2 mushrooms this year. like a handful. from 3 patches.
I have found chicken of the woods and oysters here in HI. There are other eatable varieties too but I have not found any yet.
That is really frustrating. I remember all your mushroom pictures last year! Should you try again, I found Mountain Mushroom had better prices and customer service than northspore.
I’ve tried wine caps and oysters here and no luck several times. Strange since the native oysters do great.
