Luis, you need to get busy and graft a bunch of the varieties from China. Some of the descriptions are… tantalizing! Get a copy of Pear Varieties in China and you will see what I mean.

Your yulu is underripe. Quality should be the same as or even better than Akizuki. However both are difficult to grow.

Just confirming that Dangshan Suli from Santiam is real. It’s an old variety but very good quality.

As i told you, this are first fruits of grafted scions so its normal that first fruits are small or below max quality, but they are not difficult to grow here.
