I grafted Sucrée de Montluçon last year but the graft failed. The only other graft from last year that did not make it was Golden Boy. I may try again to graft them next year.
Saw the Ooharabeni has fruit. Would like some pics and a report on it. Mine has not fruited yet.
It was raining, i will take more pics later but pears and all rest looks normal and healthy.
They are two diferent scions, one normal and one maby variegated. Both have fruits.
So this is variegation or other thing?
not sure… owuld be curious to see if others weigh in, maybe post it in a general thread. to me im worried its some sort of mosaic virus since its got sort of irregular intervenal chlorosis
Thanks a lot for your reply. Last year it was normal and i have two scions of this yulu grafted on same branch. One its like this and the other totally normal. Both scions have fruit for the first time. They were grafted 3 years ago and came from US.
A bunch of the Asian pears in the USDA collection have viral infections. There’s a thread listing some of them on here somewhere.
You think its a virus? I was seeing pics of virus on pear trees and didnt saw anything like this. And the strange thing is that all other things on this trees and the other yulu scion is normal
I’m not sure if it’s a virus or not. Is very cool looking either way. This was the link to the USDA I recall seeing.
A bunch of their Asian pears have infections, but I don’t see Yulu listed from searching. I’m on my phone, so I can’t see it very well.
Thanks a lot my friend! Well i don’t identify any problems on her fruits or anything around. If necessary i take it out… but its very beautifull as leaves mature.
