I went out to check my trees yesterday and found an open bloom on my pink lady apple. It’s been in the high 80’s / low 90’s here. Has anybody else seen this happen? I lost all of my fruit set early in the year. This tree has been in the ground 2 years now.

I had blooms on pink lady in October also on kieffer pear tree in September last year. James

I’m glad I’m not the only one who has seen this. I would really wig out if my kieffer started blooming right now. All my trees are still young. My bartlett pear had a couple of blooms this spring but didn’t turn in to anything.
Its called “rat tail” bloom. If you have Fireblight problems it’s best to remove these blooms to reduce the chances that these late blooms get infected with FB.
