I have been checking every morning for eggs in this newly built nest. First egg was observed this morning. It appears to be well hidden in my Goumi bush.

Could be a robin egg. They’re a nice pale blue.

It is so hot outside I’m not near the nest except for the early morning or late afternoon so I might have to wait until it is nesting for a positive ID.
I’ve been impressed with the ability of this app to ID birds by song or calls. It can also do so via photo but the accuracy seems to be less. Don’t know if it can do anything with photos of eggs though.
