I bought this tree as a Belle of Georgia white peach from Tractor Supply - I’m 0 for 3 with them on actually getting the variety I purchased. All the spots/scab/pock marks are battle wounds from growing stone fruit in South Carolina. The taste is excellent, and a big difference I noticed from the neighboring Not Elberta (maybe a Red Haven?) is that the fruit is still very good when fairly firm. Both the skin and the flesh appear to remain thicker during ripening, and I believe that led to a better harvest when compared to the softer peaches that get the plum curculio and stinkbugs worse.
Since it’s from TSC and they only carry the most common varieties - 90% of their peaches are Elberta, Red Haven, and Belle of Georgia - I figured it had to be something pretty common. Fantasia? I don’t know nectarine varieties as well, but I know that this tree produces great firm, yellow fruit. Appreciate any ID help.
