New jujubes this year

Has anyone (other than Dr Yao) tried the fruit on these?

I have an Alcalde #1. It fruited on the year planted. It was a hard year on the little tree—lots of rain for months and then none for months and I had to battle ants in the roots and I hoped it would live. I still got a couple of late fruit. They were okay, nice sized, oblong, a bit dry but sweet. I’m anxious to taste them this year when the tree looks healthy.

so is that your new orchard @castanea ? Looks really nice as it is. Will definitely be nicer once established with mature chestnut trees and jujus!

Ive had Alcade #1 & Sandia at Dr Yao’s tasting last year, I thought they were very good. I don’t remember seeing Huzao or Fucumi there.

Not an orchard yet. Everything is still in pots. I hope to get them all planted this Fall.

just tell me if there might be jujus you want to re-establish. Looking forward to your photo updates!

Thank you. Next year I want to get some trees I no longer have, as well as some that I haven’t tried yet, such as your awesome finds.
