Hi Cleve, welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your time here. We’re in Kentucky now, but I lived in N Texas for almost 30 years, worked in Dallas county, and lived in various places, like Mesquite and Wylie.

We tried growing veggies there for the last four years before we moved, and didn’t have a lot of luck-too hot and dry there, plus that hard black clay didn’t help. The only thing we got to grow well was okra!

Anyway, welcome again.

I hear ya about this hard black clay! I have farmed it for 32 years and it can be cruel and unforgiving.lol Sounds like your in a better climate and soil to grow things, I envy you. Thanx for the welcome! Cleve

Hi Katy, thanx for the welcome! I know where you are and I would rather have your soil than my black land clays! Lol Good to know you and others are close and know our conditions down here. Hope to visit again about fruit and veggies. Cleve
