Now it begins again in 2026!

Finished mailing out the last of the scions this year. Thanks to everyone who sent me your address or traded with me. Now it is time for me to get busy planting! 300 pear rootstocks in the first order.

Hi Clark, What rootstocks did you get?

@noogy

These are Callery x BET crosses. They are legal to sell, and really the best of both types. Unlike callery they are not invasive. I think this is the last year to legally buy callery.

Where did you find that rootstock?

I’m really curious about these rootstocks as well. Do you know whether they’re seed-grown or clonal? I’m also growing out some hybrids of this type, along with a few other Callery hybrids, to evaluate as Perry pears. Callery hybrids seem to have potential in a number of areas.

Cool :beans: Did you mention what you were planning to do with these in another thread?

And… sometimes I think I am going overboard with 12 varieties of persimmons :wink:

@clarkinks you really have it bad for pears.

I have 3 pears and they are blooming this year. Hope we get to try a few this year.
