So, where I live it’s 19-22 degrees Celcius during the day and the leaves are beginning to fall off my peach trees.
I didn’t spray dormant oil on my peach trees in the Spring before they woke up because I was afraid it would interfere with my peach leaf curl spray.
I had a lot of borer damage this year so I was wondering if I could spray the dormant oil now? Will dormant oil kill borer larvae or eggs? Is it not recommended to spray oil because it’s not completely dormant yet?
Scott suggests neem oil is very affective in the control of peach tree borers. Regular oil will only reach ones not in the wood and caterpillars are not generally treated with it anyway. What does the label say? I think that should be your first point of reference.
Yes, I lost an apricot tree here during my first year in my new home. Also had attacks on one of my cherry trees. My neighbor’s Frost peach has not had them though so I never understood why. But they are quick to kill apricots
