Orchard ladder recommendation

I’m going to buy an orchard ladder soon and trying to decide between a 6’ or an 8’ ladder (Tallman). I have almost all dwarf apple trees - most of which are still at 6’ at this point. m.7, g.11, g.890, g.935…

Anyone been here/done that and have a recommendation?

I’ve never actually used an orchard ladder and getting one here (Minnesota) is like buying a unicorn.

My concern with the 6’ ladder is that it’ll be too short and my concern with the 8’ ladder is that I’ll wind up too far away from the tree and have difficulty reaching over the top of the ladder.

Thanks.

I like my Baldwin 8’ tripod

For trees that small I would forego the orchard ladder and get a little giant adjustable ladder where you can work under the tree and in the canopy. if you go for orchard ladder, I would go with the larger. The top two steps are unsafe anyway so the six foot is not going to gain you much. I have a 12 ft fiberglass and it is heavy. If you can find aluminum, I would recommend it over fiberglass.
