Organic strawberries

I have some non orgainic strawberries. I know with cows if you have a non organic cow its grandaughter would be considered organic if on organic feed and lot.
Could the same be true with plants?
If i get babies from my non organic strawberries and then get babiea from those babies would they then be considered organic?

I could be wrong but I think, ā€œorganicā€ refers to the way the fruit is grown. Provided the original plants were not GMO, if you follow organic methods of producing the fruit, no synthetic fertilizer or insecticides, it would be ā€œorganicā€.

It depends on the context of the question; are you intending to get an organic production certificate? If so, then it’s not enough to simply propagate strawberries, even in the ā€˜most organic’ way. Firstly, the mother plants must be certified, and also, further production must be monitored by a certification body; and not only that, the land/soil itself must be certified, and I believe the certification period for the land is 3 years (transition). Actually, every step - from the very beginning all the way to packaging and shipping the final product - must be monitored and fully compliant with organic production standards and the requirements of the certification body.
