Outdoor walk in cooler using coolbot?

Hello,
I am considering building an 8x8 outdoor walk in cooler using a cool bot. This might be a dumb question but what happens when the temp outside is below freezing? Do I just put a heater in there with a thermostat?
Do I get an air conditioner that has a heating strip in it?
Thanks

You’ll need an inkbird or similar temp controller and a heat source. Plug in your numbers like insulation r value, cubic feet, etc into chat gpt with your coldest expected temperature outside and then find a safe heat source to plug into your controller.

I have a lean-to with r25 spray foamed room thats attached to a heated pole barn. I never add heat in the winter and it stays above 32 degrees with my set up. They make heat cables and other things you can plug in. Just find something safe that can’t tip over and catch fire.

yes, you’ll need a heater or dual-function A/C if you want it to work through freezing weather.

you can make them even more efficient with some modifications:
