Sorry to res such an old thread… I have a two year in the ground panache that is extremely slow growing and seems very susceptible to heat. The turkey and unknown green skinned fig near it grows fine.

I’m wondering if some fig trees are just runts, or of if anyone knows of a similar tasting fig that can be easier to grow. I’m 40 miles inland in SoCal, it can get very hot here, we had highs of 105 for a week last year.

If 105 is your highest temperature then Panache should thrive there.

Growing up in Redlands CA we had 3 weeks of 115 every August.
