I read this is how the Japanese create “Red Mutsu” apples. But that this trick can work on other apples like Golden Delicious type varieties as well. Or other green/yellow apples.

Im satisfied with Golden Delicious that i kind of forget in the fridge… to me they taste the best when the become shriveled just a little.
However i read this awhile back and it has lots of merit.
That is truly amazing orchard craft.
