Pawpaw scion green wood?

Hi, i have grown pawpaw about 14 years and yesterday big storm broken .almost my whole tree :sob:, I have now some young this years wood from named varieties and wanted to ask is it possible to use this year green wood or green buds for successful pawpaw grafting?.
I wanted to try chip grafting, bark grafting and whip and tongue.
Thank you.

Wow, sorry to hear your news! Looks like a very mature tree.
I would cut it off about 2 feet from ground and use the scions you have to set about 4-5 bark grafts around the perimeter.
It’s early enough that Englands Orchard would probably still have dormant scions, which you could order, in the event your green ones do not take, but their buds do look like they might work, so it’s worth a try! In two to three weeks you will know if you need dormant scions.
Best wishes for success

Also I forgot to mention, don’t cut it off too low in case you need to regraft! Leave some room to cut it off the second time to get to fresh cambium in the event you need to regraft!

Did grafting green wood work? I’m in a similar position needing to re-graft a variety that was damaged by the wax I used to seal it. The scion is growing well but long-term will probably fail due to the rot on the trunk.

No success with green grafting, 0 graft takes.

If I was going to emergency graft from green wood I would chip bud.
