Peach Canker Help

Hello all,

I have a Reliance peach tree I planted in Spring 2023. In Spring 2024, I noticed an oozing lesion near the base of each of two of the four main scaffold branches. I suspected a borer insect, did some cutting into it and found nothing, most likely just further damaging the wound. By Fall 2024 they had scabbed over and stopped oozing for the most part. I’m wondering whether I should take these branches off, and if so, would it be wise to graft some plum scions onto the stumps. Here is a photo of one of the cankers/galls a few days ago, after applying dormant oil for the first time.

Any advice is appreciated, thank you!
