Peach rootstocks

Anyone know of a source for peach seedlings? Raintree has Lovel seedlings but the shipping is outrageous. I only need 5 maybe 10, I might just have to graft on plum rootstocks.

I’d give you some for free Borer, since you are so close, but I was pretty short this last year and budded all mine in the fall.

I have some really big ones I didn’t bud that are older (most probably thumb sized). If you want, you can have those if you want to come by and dig them up. I’ve easily got 10 of those.

They are graftable, just hard to dig up because the roots are bigger and more spread out.

PM me if you are interested.

Grandpa’s Orchard has Bailey peach rootstock, 10 for $24, but the shipping cost might be worse than Raintree.

Thanks everyone, I think I’ve got it covered now. I ordered 10 from one green world, the total with shipping was $5 higher that the shipping alone from Grandpas.
Thanks for the offer Olpea, I appreciate it. I was looking for smaller ones I could pot.

Hi. One Green World is out of stock of Lovell Rootstock for peaches. I have looked on the internet but cannot another source. Does anyone know of another source to buy them? (I only need about 3-4).

Also, what do you think about Viking semi-dwarfing rootstock for peaches?

Thanks,
Frank

I just did an extensive search, contacting close to a dozen different places and there is absolutely no Lovell seedlings/rootstocks available in the market for 2021 growing season!

Thanks for looking That’s what I found too.

I remember seeing Lovell for sale at multiple online nurseries but it was a couple of months ago, looks like every place is sold out by now.

Yes, several had them (e.g. Burnt Ridge, One Green World and Raintree) but they went out of stock pretty quickly.

When I lived in peach country (central MO) I used to grow a semi-wild “siberian” peach that produced a small ornamental tree with small but reasonable tasty peaches and mostly came true from seed. I used the seedlings as rootstock for all my other peaches, they performed well in the heavy clay soil for the 12 years I lived there. I’d just line the pits in a row in the garden after eating them and they would grow the following spring, ready to bud in August.

Just a note. Nemaguard is not recommended in places where PTSL is a problem. It’s also not recommended in colder climates.
