Hello,
My Redhaven peach tree that was planted last winter has these ugly looking scars on the rootstock (peach seedling rootstock I think its called).
Truthfully it had woodchips touching the bark for a while which I heard could cause issues. Its the only tree out of 20+ I planted last year that has this issue.
Does anyone have experience with this type of thing?
Should I get rid of the tree to prevent this type of thing spreading to other trees, or is it a physiological thing that does not spread like a disease or fungus would? I have not noticed any goo coming out of the wound as could be seen with peach canker.
Can I do anything to help it heal or should I just leave it and see what happens?
