Peach Trees Blooming in 7b

First day of open blooms on my Winblo peaches. 85 today, 87 tomorrow but 26 low forecast for Tuesday next week. My earliest bloom I can remember that made a crop large enoughto spray was March 14. So not looking good. Same for spring blooming magnolias. They were all closed Sunday but today some trees are 50 percent open. Tonight’s low of 60 won’t slow anything down. Recent last frost dates average April 12. So a long way to go. Actually the peaches are blooming before the plums as they will probably be open tomorrow. All the roadside Bradford pears are in full bloom in Southern VA.

Zone 7b/8a southeast Virginia.

I am in southern middle TN zone 7b… and all of my plums have bloomed except alderman. Some like AU rosa have dropped pedals.. many are in full bloom.

My Pears, Goumis, Blueberries are blooming.. blackberries, raspberries and 2 of 5 mulberries have have green growth out.

My forecast..

This is not unusual for us.. it is more the norm.

Stinks though.

Usual for me here in Southern Illinois too. It was 83 yesterday. Peaches are starting to swell and show pink.

Here is a guide I use.

my la Feliciana is in first bloom. Great peaches it is a terrific highly prolific tree for down south. The only problem is you better plant a back up . About 8 to 10 years and it’s gone root and trunk problems. Just gonna enjoy it while it’s here.
