I’m visiting a friend in Long Island. We went to the city today and were walking to a destination, called the High Line or High Line Park.
I came across two Peach trees, each planted in successive tree pits by a row of businesses, next to the regular city trees. One had fruit.
More about the High Line.It is built on an old elevated freight rail line.It is a walkway, about 1.5 miles long that still has the old rails showing in places and plants, some fruiting, growing on both sides.Part of it looks like it travels along the Hudson River, but we didn’t go that far.An interesting idea to save some history.
