Pear blister mite damage on fruit superficial?

I’ve been trying for a few years to control pear blister mites, with limited success. This year my Clapp’s Favourite Red pear has damage to some of the fruit itself. I’ve only seen it on the leaves until now. Does anyone know if the damage here is only skin deep, or is the fruit itself ruined? Picture below.

It’s on the skin but can deform the fruit.

Spray lime sulphur when the buds are swelled next spring and you will nail it.

Thanks. I usually spray lime sulphur in the spring but my trees are growing beyond the reach of my current spraying equipment. Any recommendations for upgrading? Also thought I’d try a fall spray this year

My solution is to prune all my trees to max 15’ or so. You can put an extension wand on any sprayer to reach that height. Solo for example sells extensions. If your sprayer brand doesn’t sell an extension you can get a whole new wand from a brand that does and switch it over to that.

I was out thinning tonight on my ladder and I found on a few tall trees I was missing the tops. It’s hard to see up there, even if I can reach it I don’t know if I am hitting it.
