Hi all,
My pear tree leaves turned black overnight in the last 2 days in UK (1/3 of the leaves).
Is this likely due to the extreme heat we have had (38 Celcius)? Or bacterial infection?
It is a 6 month old tree, but has been watered every other day in the heat.
Thanks
To be safe. Should I just remove the black leaves
A pic would help. I get fungus on mine all the time which turns the leaves black and may defoliate some. A fungicide spray solves that quickly. That would be my guess without a pic.
I would look up pear fireblight … that is by far the most common cause of sudden black leaves on pears.
Yes, a fungicide sorted it out!
