Pears To Eat Right Off Tree

I eat Harrow Sweet pears right off the tree with no fridge or counter ripening required. What other European pear varieties are like this? I read that most Asian pears require no cure time.

Any summer pear should be edible off the tree. Bartlett is likely the most well known pear edible off the tree. There are advantages to pears that ripen off the tree. Also the varieties that ripen off the tree are often very sweet (Warren, Comice, Seckle, magness etc). Also since winter pears ripen off the tree there is less pest pressure.

Two post I’ve tried to compile a list of these and no one ever responds. Bartlett and Moonglow does better with the fridge.

Have a lot of varieties that still have not fruited, but these I know for sure.

Ayers
Seckel
Red Bartlett
Harrow Delight and Sweet

Interested to see the other replies. Have to warn you though. I let ripen on the tree and the bees usually get near half of them.

Bartlett? Not here they aren’t very good right off the tree.

I find Bartlett excellent right off the tree. Unfortunately there’s only a brief window when they’re at their peak. Moonglow as well, along with Clapps red favorite, (which all have Bartlett parentage I believe).
