From my experience they come on out without any help. The few I thought needed help so I tried to help I ended up doing more damage than good, so I just leave them all alone now.
@kinghat … those are Rich tooie seedlings I grew a few years back.
Notice the initial red stem color.
Yours look more greenish/brown.
Is your seed northern persimmon seed ?
Rich tooie is a southern persimmon.

i got the seeds from fruit at red fern farm. some of them are from yates and prok iirc but were also from named trees i dont recall.
do persimmon seedlings tolerate full sun or do they need dappled light like pawpaws? ive got everyone together on the north side of the house:
@kinghat … they will love full sun.
To sort of ease them into that… you might put them on the east side for a week or so (morning sun only)… then move them to a full sun location.

As an experiment I planted a bunch of Kasandra persimmon seeds. More than expected sprouted. Now there are over two dozen outside in large yogurt containers. Couple of questions.
- Is is best to keep them each in their own larger pots?
- If I put some in the ground, how far apart should they be planted?
Thanks for any advice.

Something like these 4 inch x 14 inch deep tree pots would be ideal for a year or so.
I started some rich tooie (american persimmon) in a 16 inch wide by 10 inch deep planter. Planted them in October after eating fruit… and they sprouted up in April… i kept them in that planter that first growing season… one made it to 42 inch tall.
I did not plant them out that fall… but probably should.
I kept them in that 16x10 pot all winter… leaving them out when not too cold… bringing them in the garage when it got too cold.
Over winter the roots grew out the drainage holes in the bottom.
The next spring… I did plant them out in my orchard… seems like that was late Feb…
Then in April… I grafted Kasandra to one… and Nakitas gift to the other.
They are nice healthy trees now… 12 ft tall with nice scaffold branches. Kasandra has several fruit on now.
Good luck !

For hybrid persimmons… spacing them 15-20 ft apart should work.
I have mine spaced out more… I have americans and hybrids in the same row and my spacing is more like 25 ft.
Welcome comments from others on spacing for hybrid persimmon kasandra.
