Pitcher plant terrarium and staghorn ferns

I took my houseplants out for some rain today, thought I’d share a few pics. The pitcher plant terrarium is about a year old. Today is the first time I’ve watered it since planting. It seems to thrive on fungus gnats! This species is native and hardy, believe it or not.

My staghorn ferns are 12 month and 6 months old. Super easy to care for, just water and lightly fertilize once a week or so.

I had pitcher plants before, and didn’t know it’s hardy. good to know. How Hardy it is?

To zone 3, I think. Look up Sarracenia purpurea.

SC has a lot of carnivorous plants growing wild. In our swampy area we have lots of small sundew plants and I have seen some pitcher plants in the past. The Venus flytrap is a little north of us at the SC/NC border never seen one in the wild.
