Pixie Crunch up north

Most zone recommendations I’ve seen for Pixie Crunch put it as a zone 5 apple at the lowest. Anybody in zone 4 or lower growing it successfully?

Ive got pixie grafted onto a haralson apple in ND, survived the last 3 years fine. Its one of my wifes favorites. Im in 4a, Ive actually never had an apple fail due to cold and ive got several varieties that arent ‘rated’ for this area.

Thanks for the reply. For some reason I have it in my head that you also have IE mulberry growing/surviving/producing at your location?

Looking at your profile makes me wonder…are you in zone 4b in OR or is your experience with P.C. in upstate N.Y.?

My experience is in Upstate NY although I am growing out grafted rootstocks in Oregon right now.

I do have iem and some grapes going that shouldn’t be growing here. Have had some difficulty with peaches tho. Contender died and reliant died back a lot last winter, recovered mid summer but i don’t hold much hope for it…
