Anyone know what this could be? Friend bought a house in Idaho last year and this is coming up in a nice neat row in a vege garden. Was buried under snow most of the winter. I was thinking Lovage?
Lovage has more thick stems, and I can’t imaging anybody need that many of them, they grow huge. How does the leaf smell? It could be also a flower, may be delphinium?

If a flower, looks similar to my peony when it pops from the ground.

They do not look like peony to me.

It looks like a type of hardy geraniums. I have similar plants that came with the house.

I agree with Ant Mary! They are true geranium. Purple-blue flowers in Clumps
