I found these little black dots on many leaves and applea.
I used to know what this insectoid pest was but I forgot.
What is it and do I need to get rid of it and if so… how?

Sure it is not artillery fungus?
No its not the fungus. It gomes off easily with a fingernail scrape. Sometomes leaving a streaky smudge like blood trail

This is crazy. I had something just like that on my windshield and as I drove down the road it left a tar trail behind it.
