There are some odd somethings on one of my plums. I don’t think this is black knot, but it appears to be some sort of bark growth abnormality.
It looks like crown gall. There’s no cure and now it’s in your soil under that tree and you will need to plant something that is crown gall tolerant or immune.
That’s my guess. I’ve only been looking at crown gall recently on a different thread. It happens primarily within the rose family which includes plums/apples/and many more.
Hopefully it isn’t. The only thing other which I don’t know happens to plum it appears like is burr knot.

They do look a lot like burr knots, but I don’t think plums get them. If it’s crown gall their are several of them, none near the crown, and some about four feet off the ground.
