Anyone know what is causing my superior plum to create tons of flowers right now? It is ripening a couple of fruits at the same time.
Mine did that a couple years ago, if you do a search you can probably find the pics and a thread. I think it was called “Plum Blooming For A Second Time!” If I remember right the experts thought it was a sign the tree was stressed. It was in fact getting hit hard at the time by Japanese beetles and was carrying a heavy crop as well. Last year it carried no crop as it was wiped out by a late frost, and there was no second bloom last year.
