Plums in Maine

I fruited a couple of them, they were good, similar to their parent and vigorous as well. I think seedling plums are a good bet if they come from cultivars

I’m glad they came out well! I saw in the Beach Plum - Varieties discussion that you also have beach plums including a set that you grew from seed. How do the Toka seedlings compare to the beach plums in terms of pest/disease resistance?

Beach plums are the more pest and disease resistant

Seedlings from these won’t likely be true to the parent, but they may be interesting plum trees.

@JesseinMaine Do you have any guesses as to what causes the beach plums to be more pest resistant (like bloom timing, skin thickness, acid levels, etc?)
