I saw this bee yesterday with what looks like a tick? Is it a tick? It seems much too large to be a mite? When I look up mites they are tiny and usually a bunch of them. Could it be a flea?
It is stuck to its face and the bee tried very hard to unsuccessfully get it off. I tried to scrap it off with the side of my measuring tape and I couldnt believe it stood still for a moment and let me try. I could not dislodge it anf so took a video but this site doesn’t let me put up videos. Heres some screwn shots.

cut it off with sissors near the point of contact.

Could be a carpenter bee…that was removing a pupa from its own hole…or someone elses hole.
Or a carpenter bee that found something elses pupa and it attached.
