My first year Pome fruits (apple and pear) have all been showing spots on their leaves. I’m having trouble coming to a consensus on what the issue may be. From what I’ve looked up so far, it seems like it could be Frog Eye Leaf Spot or Alternaria Leaf Spot, although in the example images I’ve been able to find I honestly haven’t been able to tell the difference. Does this look like either of those, and should I be worried? It does seem to have spread from an old wild apple seedling nearby, which I will be removing over winter. I am also in the process of planning out a spray regime over dormancy. I’ve seen scott’s organic spray schedule and was planning on spraying lime sulphur as a dormant spray. Other than that, and cleaning up the orchard floor come leaf drop, any recommendations on how to proceed?
I am a novice sprayer, but am near you up in Syracuse. In years past my unsprayed pears looked identical to yours. It’s likely fabrea leaf spot and/or scab, both of which mancozeb prevents. It’s readily available on Amazon. I apologize but I do not know of an organic equivalent.
