Pomegranates are much less cold hardy once they break dormancy. 22 degrees is no problem in the winter but can be death with a late freeze. All the wood is already split from freezing so hopefully they will come back from the roots.
Bark split
Red Silk, followed by Desertnyi and Mae in the back. Desertnyi is still small and was covered by a 35 gallon trash can but it was still killed to the ground. The Red Silk is the only one so far without split bark so it may no die to the ground.
