I planted potted and bare root persimmons and potted figs!

@tonyOmahaz5, is there a reason why you have several Tam Kam in pots and not another non-astringent persimmon? Iām thinking about trying to keep one in a pot but canāt decide which cultivar.
I have heard Tam Kam was a great variety from (the old Gardenweb where Scott , the gang, and I used to hang out )with large fruit and tasted sweeter than most nonastringent Kaki. So I ordered a few scions from USDA UC Davis about 6 yrs ago and grafted 5 onto the 5 American persimmon rootstocks from Missouri department of conservation. I bought a bundle of ten. Tam Kam tuned out great in a pot environment. Each tree produced about 17 to 25 fruits each season. So far I havenāt try any other nonastringent Kaki varieties in a pot except for Tam Kam. I hope this will help you choose a good one.

Iāve heard a couple locals call Tamopan the āHamburgerā persimmon.
My potted Tam Kam produced so much flowers that the tree had to aborted at least 200 baby fruits in June dropped.
There are still hundreds of baby fruits still on the tree.
FWIW, my three IKKJs drop a ton of flowers but retain enough to produce a huge crop.
Last year I saw maybe 1000 flowers on the ground but we ended up picking ~300 ripe fruits. And I didnāt have to thin!!!
Trust the tree to manage the load.

Yeah thereās an insane amount of flowers that are turning to dime sized fruit on my 8 foot Tam Kam. Iām half tempted to thin them out because I only got 3 fruit last year and going to 300 seems a bit of a jump.
Wow! Thatās a lot of flowers! My tree is just vigorous and doesnāt flower as much. It has reached the 2nd story window in 3 years.
FWIW, each of my 3 IKKJs is ~12ā. The trees seem naturally dwarfing, though I prune the top to keep them from getting too tall. Each one produced ~100 ripe fruits last year, so 300 total. 100 (1 tree) seems very manageable, given friends and family. And they store well for at least a month. Could you (and maybe a significant other) eat 3 a day? Of course.
The prior year, it was more like 10 per tree. The year before that, maybe 3 total.
What I really donāt know is whether Tam Kam manages its fruit load as well as IKKJ. If not, then I would probably thin to 50-100 fruits.
what is the ratio of the june drop? like if you said 200 dropped how much remains? im trying to figure out does this drop ratio reduce as the tree becomes mature? or if the numbers can be improved with less watering or with certain fertilizer that is recommended? does anyone know?
I donāt fertilized that much. A little 10-10-10 in late March and thatās it. Just cover the base with fresh grass clippings. The most I ever had per potted persimmon tree is 45 fruits. The trees thinned the fruits themselves.
This is my Tam Kam that I grafted last year in to D. Virginiana that was potted and it got planted in the ground this year. As you can see is full of flowers! Unfortunately Iām going have to pull them of so it can concentrate on rooting and not fruiting.
Just leave one for a taste test. Asian persimmon have 2 growth spurt in a season anyway.

In my experience, young persimmon trees drop fruit so easily esp. a first couple of years of fruiting.
Thatās what I noticed with my Fuyu but this little guy still holding all the flowers.
What is weird is that right beside this one I have another Tam Kam and that one is taller and more robust but it didnāt produce a single flower. Go figure?
