there actually is citrus named ‘ugli’, and these seem to be similar yet different. These are called ‘temecula ugly’ or ‘temecula ugli’
these have more tangerine characteristics than the jamaican ugli.

they are quite sweet and somewhat more tart than the typical tangerine, but other than the eye-catching bumps and dimples, not much different from the usual cuties/halos tangerines in quality. They are much bigger though so easier to peel, and the rind itself is loosely attached from the segments
