Prickly pears in partial shade?

Has anyone had experience growing or foraging from Opuntia fruit in partial shade? I’m planning on planting some as part of an informal fence/border in my orchard but they’ll likely get only about 4 hours of direct sun in the summer. In the winter the tree cover will lighten as they are deciduous oaks. I’m in a warm dry climate, Napa, CA, zone 9, summer temps are typically 80s - 100F.

I gather that often good tasting prickly pears are the sweeter prickly pears. So reducing sun could reduce fruit quality. Reduced production is some concern but not much compared to fruit quality. Can anyone speak to partial shade grown opuntia fruit quality?

Thanks!
