Progress of our bloom/Arizona

Nectarines, cherries, and apricots are in full bloom. Plums and Pluots too. Most of the peaches are finishing up except for a few late bloomers (Babcock and Fairtime)

We grow the hierloom garlic between our rows. Works out well as here, Garlic is planted here in October and grows all winter while the trees are dormant. It harvests in Late May/Early June when its heating up and the shade the then fully leafed out trees provide are actually a good thing.

My space is limited and Iā€™m considering onions instead of garlic between the rows. Thanks for putting the idea in my head. Bill

For us there are a few crops that really work well in dormancy between the seasons. But Arizona is a rather strange place to grow in and im sure that it doesnt much apply much out of the desert southwest. Garlic, onions, and potatoes are especially well suited for that October-April window we have.
