Protecting My Sensitive Plants in Winter

This year I’m doing something different. I have a tent that’s over 10 year old. Only use it once for camping. It was stored outside under the cover and in the box. Now, I use it to protect the plants. Surprising, the tent let the rain drip in. The coating and the glue most have worn out. I need it to be rain proof because I intended to use 3 Miracle led light bulbs. 12 watts each. I created a frame using PVC pipe and put a tarp over the tent. Now, it’s rain proof to protect my young Lychee seedlings, Guava cuttings/air layer, Mandarin cutting, and Avocado graft.

Your using scraps is very environmental and smart. Here are my used windows an sliding glass doors around my kumquat trees.

I agree, you have to use your imagination and whatever around the house. Now, I’m planning to use 50 Pack C7 Incandescent Light Bulbs for more heat once the temperature dip below the 40 degree. Each one produce 5 watts. That’s 250 Watts in total. That’s probably too much, so plan to unscrew off half of them. The light string only cost 6 dollars, but the electricity will cost more for the 3 months.

It might not be rain, but instead condensation that has formed on the inside wall of the tent.
