Can any fruits other than cherries be grafted to G5? Japanese plums, pluots?
If not, what would be the most versatile rootstock for creating a fruit cocktail tree (plums, pluots, apricots, peaches, nectarines, and other interspecific fruits). Maybe Citation?
G5 is strictly for cherries. Citation would be good for all the others. Also Lovell. Another would be Krymsk 1. It’s actually easier to buy, Raintree. Very dwarfing for peach and nectarine and somewhat so for others. That could mean an unbalanced tree if one species out grows another.

Thanks fruitnut. That’s what I figured. I’ll stick to grafting cherries to my G5 and stick the other stone fruits on my citation/Lovell trees
Japanese plums can be grafted to prunus besseyi aka western sand cherry which is dwarfing. Suspect you would be able to do an interstem for other things. I tried peaches at the time on besseyi but it turned off cold and they did not take. I think they might have on a normal year. American plum, sand plum, and Canadian bounty plum will also take Japanese plum scions. Goose plums and cherry plums did not for me.Bacterial canker brought my experiment to a stop this year.
