I noticed on scion that I was grafting this spring that there seemed to be a couple of distinct types of leaf buds. Most of the scion had large buds and seemed to quickly break dormancy. Some had very small buds flat on the scion and was very slow to break dormancy. The smaller buds seemed to be on larger scion. Is this something others have noted?
