A friend brought me a dozen apples of unknown variety for me, a Pinata from an orchard in Flushing, Michigan. Supposingly the only orchard growing.
It shows up for sale here now and then. I don’t have any personal experience with it, but it sounds good. Also sold as Pinova.

Where I live, it’s sold at Trader Joe’s. I’ve had Pinata. Unfortunately, it’s just another apple to me. This depends on several factors including how long those apples are in storage, and your own taste buds (taste is subjective).
Yours probably are very fresh since they were bought from the orchard that grows this variety. Store-bought apples are hit or miss.
I bought some Honey Crisp that are pretty good but i like Melrose still better. bought Honey Crisp at $ 1.29 lb. at are local grocery store.

Corail is also a marketing name for this apple.
