Question Grape Cuttings

I just remembered to take some grape cuttings, and hopefully it will work with the ones just barely starting to awaken… I’ll take my chances. My question is! At the bottom of some cuttings there is a branch as shown, should I cut that off?

I’d cut it off before rooting.

Thanks for the quick response! I put two in a pot as is for an experiment right after I made this post, the others I’ll trim.

I agree, cut it off. Grapes form roots from callus tissue, so any cut surfaces belowground can produce roots unlike some plants that only form roots at the nodes.
