What is this weed. I’ve never noticed it anywhere I’ve been, but it is everywhere here, this year.
Most are 2’-4’ tall.

Possibly London Rocket, Sisymbrium irio, as Snarfing suggested. A member of the mustard family.

After snarfing posted, I started searching, with his input. Looks to me like London Rocket
I have a young potted mango tree. Recently, all the leaves started drying up and falling off. Upon closer inspection, I saw what looked almost like a white mold or coating on the top few inches of the plant and trunk. If I scratch the trunk below the mold, it looks green and healthy underneath.
Is this powdery mildew? Scale? What should I do?
Was sent some plants and they got lost in the mail. They will have spent about two weeks in the box. What are the odds that they will survive?
What kind of plants and where did they ship from?
Osage, raspberry, and elder.

The elderberry should be fine. They come back from the dead.

any guidance on pruning gooseberries and jostaberry? Like do they fruit on old wood? is it more of a shrub. I got a few cuttings going and i realized i have no idea.

They fruit mostly in the top 1/3 of the branch. I usually just prune out dead branches.

When I prune gooseberries I just cut off anything that starts to turn down and any branches that are crowding another along whith any dead ones.

I’ve been gone a while. But it’s official. Goodbye 3b/4a. HELLLLLOOOO 5b! Moving this month. I hope to take a year to study the land, relearn what can grow in my new climate. And make lots, and lots, and lots, and lots of lists of what to buy and plant in 2027. Excited to catch up on all the posts I’ve missed and ready to learn about my new gardening options!

My spice Z nectaplum held about 25% of its foliage all winter. Mostly at the last 6” of the branches. Now it is blooming and starting to show new leaf growth. The old leaves do not look old and tired, they look surprisingly good for having many freezing nights and being held over. Would you pluck them off with a defoliation or let it ride?

I’d say let it go. Should have more energy for fruit.
Only concern could possibly be is breed disease with it keeping the leaves, but that probably doesn’t matter to you either way, because none of the disease would ever get thinned by the cold like it does here.

The old leaves are looking clean, but some of the new growth looks to have a touch of peach curl. lol

Raspberry seems pretty tough too. Not sure about the others I haven’t grown them. @Robert
