It works. Compatibility might be more of an unknown/potential issue than normal unless you have specific info about your seed source.
As long as you stratify the seeds properly, I found very high success rates growing quince from seeds.

I find I am Quince curious. I think I will add some Provence just to see what happens with it here. With the heat maybe it will be dwarf “M9’ish” size.
I do not think “Eline” will ever make it to the US market.
