Quotes autodeleted from my posts

I thought I clicked something wrong the first time but I keep seeing the same thing. When I quote somebody the forum automatically deletes the quote my message and marks the post as if I edited it myself.

Now most of my replies look as if I edited them when the forum software did.

Is quoting not allowed?

Intentional edit: I just tried quoting somebody and my quote was not autodeleted. I’m not sure what triggers it.

If you quote the entire message for the immediately preceding post in the thread, it deletes that because it’s deemed to be unnecessarily redundant. You can avoid it by only quoting a portion of the post.
