Recycled tires as mulch

I remember having this conversation at the old GW in the past, but I can’t find it.

Did we come to a general decision as to whether those disks made of recycled tires are ok to use as mulch around the fruit trees.

No, no, no. They bleed stinky chemicals that may stunt tree growth.
