I bought what I’m assuming are Rio Red Grapefruit today. The branding is apt, these things are the sweetest grapefruit I think I’ve ever had. Very good with some acid and a lingering bitterness just as you’d want from a grapefruit.
They weren’t quite this red in real life, my phone is upping the saturation and contrast a bit too much.

Cool, they look good!
I have a Rio Red, mine get a little bigger but have never seen them get quite that dark inside. I’m not huge on grapefruit but they’re pretty good. Our Cocktail grapefruit/pomelo is the sweeter one on our property so that tends to be first choice

Oh yeah I imagine cocktail is even better. I don’t know that I’ll ever see that one in the grocery store sadly.
The local(ish) Asian market, Hung Vuong, near me had Cocktail Grapefruit last year at some point. I don’t remember what time of year it was. I generally don’t buy grapefruit, so I didn’t try them. Then looked up what they were, was intrigued, bought a couple, and loved them. Very seedy though. I appreciate whoever, ahem, “borrowed” the scion wood from the test orchard and released it.

I like the Rio Reds. I have been buying the boxes of them from US Citrus in South Texas the last couple years.
